  12. Readers' Corner Submission Guidelines

  14. If you've created some artwork, a movie or program that you'd like to share with MacFormat's readers then why not send it to us for inclusion in Reader's Corner.

  16. Please follow these guidelines when preparing your submissions:

  18. • We can only receive posted submissions on floppy disk, CD, Zip disk, or Jaz cart.
  19.  
  20. • If you need to compress your files then use DropStuff (it's included in the Archiving folder in the Resources section of the CD every month) or make your archive a .sea (self extracting archive) file.

  22. • Please use SimpleText or a program that makes self running files like DocMaker to prepare your documentation. Remember not everyone has the same word processing application as you! Similarly if you are sending artwork you should use a generic format such as PICT, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or QuickTime Movie.

  24. • Only send us work you have produced yourself. If you have included copyrighted material in you submission we won't be able to distribute it. This includes fonts, icons based on copyrighted characters, sound effects and video sampled from games/TV programs and so on.

  26. • Don't be surprised if you send a 100MB submission and it isn't used! There's a limited amount of space available on the Cover CD for Readers' Corner so keep your submissions as small as possible, about 15MB is the usual limit.

  28. • Please don't try to do anything "clever" with icons like using folder names to provide instructions or building icon mosaics. Icons are likely to get repositioned during Cover CD production process.

  30. • If you would like your work to be returned to you then include a self-addressed padded envelope with your submission. You don't need to pay return postage.

  50. Please be aware that unless otherwise noted in a covering letter we will consider permission to have been granted to reproduce any submitted artwork within the magazine and on the Cover CD packaging and to include the original artwork in digital form on the MacFormat Cover CD.
